How To Manage or Remove Cookies in Safari

Managing cookies in your Safari web browser only takes a few clicks.

How to manage cookies in Safari 5.1+ 

  1. Click Safari in the menu at the top of your screen, then select Preferences.
  2. Next, click Privacy.
  3. Set your preferences for accepting cookies next to Block Cookies.
  4. Select Always or Never next to Parties and Advertisers.
  5. If there are any websites listed as having stored data or cookies, click Details.
  6. To remove the data from specific websites, highlight the website and click Remove.
  7. To remove the data from all the sites, simply click Remove All.
  8. Click Done to return to the Preferences window.

How to manage cookies in Safari 5.0 and older

  1. Click Safari in the menu at the top of your screen, then select Preferences.
  2. Enable cookies by selecting Always or Only from sites you navigate to next to Accept Cookies.
  3. Disable cookies by selecting Never next to Accept Cookies.
  4. You can view your cookies by clicking on Show Cookies. A list of cookies stored on your computer should pop up.
  5. Remove all cookies by clicking Remove All.
  6. Click Done when you're finished to return to the Preferences window.

How to disable or clear cookies in Safari 5.1+

You might prefer to completely disable cookies in your Safari browser, or you can completely delete them. Here's how.

How to disable Safari cookies

1. Click the cogwheel icon in the top right corner and click Preferences.


2. Click the Privacy tab.


3. To accept all cookies, choose Always next to Block cookies.

To Clear or Delete Cookies


1. Click the cogwheel icon in the top right corner and click Preferences, then choose the Privacy tab and click on Details.


2. To remove or delete all cookies, choose the Remove All button at the bottom of the window.


3. To remove or delete a specific cookie, click the site name from the list and click the Remove button at the bottom of the window.
