While we like AdGuard's simple approach with its Chrome extension, the desktop app was somewhat of a nuisance to set up. We had to allow and configure multiple settings on our MacBook before it would start blocking ads.

Built just for Safari, 1Blocker helps you keep ads away while you watch YouTube videos on your Mac, iPhone, or iPad. Without 1Blocker turned on, here's what our YouTube experience looked like (yes, another Liberty Mutual ad):

One thing to note is, even though 1Blocker has a free plan you can use to successfully block ads, you can only toggle one type of blocker at a time unless you pay. This may not be a big deal to some, but since other ad blockers simultaneously block ads, trackers, and cookie pop-ups, it means 1Blocker's free plan falls a little short.
