Our experience

Overall, we had a positive experience with GoDaddy. We selected the Managed WordPress Basic plan and let the AI tools build a starter website.

Getting started was fairly straightforward, but selecting a plan proved to be challenging. There’s no single list of every web hosting plan GoDaddy offers, and it’s not always clear which features are available on which plans. However, once we selected the plan we wanted, things went smoothly.

The dashboard is clean and relatively easy to navigate, especially compared to the traditional cPanel used by many hosts. We were able to find all the settings we needed easily.

Once you’re editing your actual website, you’ll be using the standard WordPress dashboard and tools. We found these to be a little convoluted for beginners, but once you know where things are, they work well. The WordPress Gutenberg editor makes it relatively easy to adjust your page layout and add content. The website itself performed well and had excellent uptime.

Overall, we found using GoDaddy web hosting to be simple and straightforward, and we’d have no problem recommending it to others based on this experience.

Web building features

Any of these will get the job done, although we find the Gutenberg editor a little clunky.

WordPress integration

Nearly all GoDaddy plans support WordPress — the exceptions are the Website Builder plans, which use a proprietary GoDaddy platform. Managed WordPress plans come with WordPress and a small selection of useful plugins pre-installed, including Yoast SEO and a block builder for the Gutenberg editor. These plans also feature automatic WordPress updates. All these features worked as expected in our testing.

Other plans, such as the standard Web Hosting plans, offer a one-click install of WordPress through the cPanel control panel.
