Hostinger is a beginner-friendly web hosting service that doesn't skimp on reliability and speed. I recommend it for businesses that lack in-house IT support and require an easy-to-use platform.
Hostinger has affordable plans, clean navigation, and practical AI tools for building a website and troubleshooting performance issues. The most notable flaw is that security features are basic and may not meet certain regulatory requirements.
- Practical AI tools for web building and troubleshooting
- Passed tests for reliability and speed
- Beginner-friendly interface

Our experience
Hostinger was clear and easy to understand. It wasn't difficult to navigate, which is a huge plus for a technical platform. Any beginner could use Hostinger without falling into a pit of complex IT environments. Yet it still offers advanced features to handle scaling and complex sites.
All the websites were clearly listed in the menu. You can edit the site or go to the dashboard to manage settings.
Hostinger made navigating a website easy, and I never had to consult with the AI chatbot for help — although the chatbot, named Kodee, was always available. But I didn't find the fine print of "Kodee may produce inaccurate information" reassuring.
Creating or migrating a website was also a simple process. Hostinger was there every step of the way to help. From hands-on migration assistance to an AI web builder, you had many options for designing or migrating an existing website (WordPress only).
Unlike other web hosting providers, nothing about Hostinger feels outdated. Everything — from the clean navigation to the practical AI tools — suggests it can handle modern internet needs.
Hostinger web hosting prices and subscriptions
Hostinger has three different plans with affordable prices. The most notable differences among the plans are storage capacity, monthly visit limits, and the number of websites allowed.
For ecommerce sites, you may want to check which WooCommerce plan is compatible with Hostinger plans. Additionally, Hostinger offers several AI-based features. The Business and Cloud Startup plans offer free AI credits to use.

Hostinger offers 48-month subscriptions, which gives you a more affordable monthly price compared to competitors. Other web hosting providers, such as Bluehost and GoDaddy, only offer subscriptions of up to 36 months.
Hostinger offers far more value for your dollars. The most basic plan allows for up to 25,000 monthly visitors and 25 GB of storage. Meanwhile, Bluehost's lowest-tier plan only has up to 10,000 monthly visitors and 10 GB of storage.
Hostinger's Business plan offers the most value. It has AI web-building tools, Content Delivery Network (CDN), and daily backups, which aren't included in the Premium plan. These features make it easier to maintain and protect your site.
Hostinger web hosting features
Besides its affordable pricing, Hostinger offers several features that distinguish it from its competitors. Some highlights include:
- AI web builder
- Additional AI tools for creating a site
- Seamless WordPress integration
- Built-in analytics
- AI tools for performance optimization
- Assisted website migration
Types of web hosting available
Hostinger offers shared, cloud, WordPress, and VPS hosting solutions.
Cloud hosting provides scalability and is more suitable for large organizations. VPS hosting provides dedicated space on shared servers. Hostinger provides several VPS hosting plans based on vCPU core, RAM space, and bandwidth.
We tested the Premium and Business plans, which are both shared hosting, so our sites were hosted on a server with other websites. With shared hosting, another site's traffic can affect our performance. (We tested the site performance, and the results are shared below.)
Web building features
Hostinger offers two services for building a website. You can choose between creating a WordPress site or using Hostinger's AI web builder.
Both options are fairly easy to use, even for those who don't consider themselves technically savvy. You can either start with a blank page to customize or choose from a prebuilt template.
The Hostinger Web Builder is most useful for beginners. It utilizes AI to build your website with minimal prompts from you. There are also several additional AI tools to customize your site, including:
- Logo maker
- Image generator
- Writer
- Page generator
- Section generator
- Blog generator
- Product details generator
- SEO assistant
After building a website, we tested the image generator. We entered a prompt for a table full of various cookies. The image generator created two photos. We chose one of them as the site's main photo.
The AI web building tools are ideal for entrepreneurs who need to create a site with minimal resources. However, advanced entrepreneurs still have the capabilities to build a fully custom WordPress site.
WordPress integration
Like Bluehost, Hostinger is officially recommended by WordPress.org. Hostinger offers managed hosting for WordPress, so it has seamless integration with your site. You don't need any technical expertise to start using WordPress on Hostinger.
Some other WordPress features include:
- Prebuilt templates
- Unlimited SSL
- Vulnerabilities scanner
- Auto updates
- Cache acceleration tools
- Unlimited bandwidth
- WordPress staging environments
You can also opt for an additional subscription that includes several WordPress add-ons to enhance your site.
There's also an auto installer for many popular applications, such as Joomla and WooCommerce. Hostinger has made it as simple as possible to use multiple platforms on its hosting service.
Web migration
You can create a new WordPress site directly from Hostinger or migrate an existing WordPress site.
The self-migration option is pretty straightforward. You can use your admin login credentials or upload database files. Hostinger guides you through each step for a seamless migration.
There's also an option to request Hostinger to migrate WordPress or other open-source sites for you. Hostinger offers this service for free, which is a great value.
The process involves sharing your login credentials with Hostinger, which may pose a security risk. Hostinger's privacy policy states that it doesn't guarantee the protection of your personal data, even though it does take security measures to prevent data loss.
Bonus features
Built-in analytics: Hostinger provides a few analytics about performance and speed. On the main page, you'll find information about disk usage and PageSpeed insights.
There's also a separate page for Analytics. It covers information about:
- Total requests
- Unique IP addresses
- Bandwidth
- Access logs
- Top visitor countries
- Top IP addresses
- Top requests
- Top domains
- Error codes
AI tools for performance optimization:
Hostinger has a tool called AI Troubleshooter. If you have Managed WordPress hosting, the AI Troubleshooter will detect and fix errors. We tried out this tool. Overall, it took a few minutes to work, but the results were impressive.
The process began with a website speed analysis. Based on these results, the AI Troubleshooter recommended optimizing the site.
We chose to optimize performance. After a few minutes, the AI Troubleshooter resolved the issues and informed us about the actions it took. This resulted in a significant improvement in mobile performance and a slight increase in desktop performance.
The AI Troubleshooter is a valuable tool for novices, especially those unfamiliar with resolving performance issues. It's also beneficial for tech-savvy individuals who don't have the time to manually find and fix these errors.

Hostinger web hosting performance
Speed test
It’s essential that your site doesn’t have slow web pages. People will leave websites if images and videos don't load fast enough. Your web host has a significant influence on the speed of your site.
We tested the site we made with Hostinger. Below are the results. First Contentful Paint (FCP) represents the time it takes for a browser to render the first piece of content on a site. Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) measures the time it takes for the largest piece of content to load.
Product | Performance score | FCP | LCP |
Hostinger web hosting average | 97.3 | 0.8 second | 1.1 sec |
The FCP and LCP metrics show that the Hostinger-hosted site loaded quickly. We also manually tested the site and found the content loaded rapidly. We weren't waiting around for something to load.
Uptime and response
Uptime is a measure of when a computer system is functional. Ideally, your site should have 100% uptime, but you may experience brief incidents of downtime.
We tested our site's uptime to determine if it experienced downtime and for how long. Our site was almost 9 days old at the time of testing, ensuring we had a reasonable base for detecting downtime.
Product | Uptime | Average response time | Minimum response time | Maximum response time |
Hostinger web hosting average | 100% | 214 ms | 207 ms | 220 ms |
Hostinger had a 100% uptime. The response time refers to how long it takes Hostinger to respond to a request. Hostinger responds in close to 200 milliseconds, which means it has an excellent and reliable response time.
We also manually tested the page to check for any downtime. We never experienced an interruption, and the website was dependable.
Hostinger security features
Web hosting security is crucial for protecting your websites and data. Hostinger has standard security features, but nothing too impressive. According to its privacy policy, Hostinger states that its servers are not designed to meet Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance standards.
If your site handles credit card information to make money, PCI compliance is a necessity. You'll want to ensure that you establish the correct protocols to meet compliance standards.
Here is a look at the main Hostinger security features:
- Standard DDoS protection: The Cloudflare DNS firewall protects your sites from DDoS attacks.
- WHOIS privacy protection: This stops personal details from appearing on domain registers.
- Web application firewall: This blocks harmful traffic from reaching your server.
- Secure access manager: This manages access for users.
- Malware scanner: This scans sites for malicious software.
Hostinger customer support and reputation
Support type | Hostinger |
Email or live chat | Yes — Live chat and email (support@hostinger.com) |
Phone | No |
Online guides or forums | Yes |
Hostinger offers live chat as its primary customer support option. Initially, you'll interact with Kodee, the AI chatbot. It may escalate to a human representative if needed. The live chat is available 24/7, allowing you to get in touch with a human customer support representative. You can also email them.
There are online guides available. Hostinger has a Knowledge Base filled with helpful articles. It also has a page for tutorials that covers topics such as VPS hosting, WordPress, ecommerce, and how to create a website.
Hostinger reputation
Hostinger has a 4.7 rating on Trustpilot based on over 47,000 reviews. Hostinger is ranked 17th among the top 20 web hosting services. Within the top 20 ranking, it has the highest number of reviews. Hostinger beats Siteground (22,000+ reviews) and Porksbun (18,000+ reviews), which are each ranked at 4.8.
87% of reviewers gave Hostinger 5 stars. Some highlights reviewers shared include excellent customer service, an easy-to-use dashboard, and a smooth setup. Most of the negative reviews seemed to complain about customer service. However, Hostinger replied to every single negative review, which implies they are making an effort to solve issues.
Top alternatives
Hostinger offers a straightforward and user-friendly interface, along with reliable hosting. However, you may need PCI-compliant servers or strong security features. There are other alternatives to consider if security standards are important for your site, including GoDaddy and Bluehost.
