Bubble AI offers a wide range of prices, depending on whether you’re building web apps, mobile apps, or both. At the low end are the web app-only plans, which range from $29/mo to $349/mo on an annual contract. Mobile app-only plans range from $42/mo to $449/mo, while combo plans range from $59/mo to $549/mo.
In return for your investment, Bubble will give you numerous resources to support you as you go from idea to a fully built app. This includes a vast, community-driven marketplace with thousands of pre-built templates and plugins. The big downside is that if you ever outgrow Bubble, it’s tough to leave because the platform doesn’t let you export code. Another drawback is that, aside from its Enterprise tier, Bubble doesn’t guarantee uptime on any plan.
Beyond the pros and cons, another major factor to consider before committing to Bubble is the cost. Of course I don’t need to tell you that — it’s why you clicked on the link to get here. My job is to make that click worth your time, which I’m going to do by explaining Bubble’s plans and pricing in greater detail. I’ll also cover its standout features, help you choose the right plan, and share alternatives if you decide to go in a different direction.

Compared with other AI app builders, Bubble’s $32/mo starting price for the web apps-only plan is well above competitors. For example, Base44’s pricing, Lovable’s pricing, and Replit’s pricing start at only $16.00/mo, $25/mo and $18/mo, respectively.
And it’s not just the entry-level price that’s higher: Bubble also bills you based on its unique workload units. You might not think much of them when you first launch your app, but if it gains traction, you’ll need to keep an eye on them. Still, Bubble is a great service with an active community, and it’s one of the few AI app builders that lets you build mobile apps.
What do you get with Bubble?
Bubble’s two big draws are that it lets you vibe code both web and mobile apps (most AI builders focus only on web apps) and that it has a strong user community. That community powers its marketplace, which acts like a build-velocity multiplier and saves you time and money. Bubble also has other features that help you build apps more efficiently. Let’s take a look.
Template marketplace
Choose from 1,600+ pre-built templates to get a head start on your project. Filter by niche or need (e.g., real estate, landing page), experience level (i.e., beginner, intermediate, advanced), and price (i.e., free, paid).
Plugin marketplace
Like the templates above, Bubble also offers an extensive selection of plugins. Choose from 7,500+ plugins to augment your own app without having to build from scratch.
AI-assisted PRD generation
Beginners getting started with vibe coding often overlook the important pre-build step of drafting a Product Requirements Document (PRD). A PRD explains your app’s purpose, what it does, and how it does it. It can also cover color schemes and other design variables. Bubble has a feature called "Build Guides" that uses AI to draft the equivalent of a PRD for you.
Pre-initial build feature extraction with modification options
If you don’t write your own PRD or take advantage of the previous feature, then Bubble analyzes your first prompt and extracts the features it assumes need to be built. Then it presents them to you, giving you a chance to edit and even add more features before it starts building.
Which plan is right for your business?
Choosing a Bubble plan means moving through a two-step decision funnel.
- The first step is as straightforward as it gets: decide whether you want to build a web app, a mobile app, or both.
- Once that’s done, you need to choose a plan tier based on your expected usage. This is trickier because if you’ve never used Bubble to build an app, you have no sense of how different requests debit your AI credit balance, nor how Bubble’s workload units work. Sure, you can read the explanation and understand the concept, but it doesn’t really click until you’re in the trenches.
This is why I recommend starting with the Free plan. It’ll give you a feel for how things work and, just as importantly, let you jump-start your project with free AI credits. After you finish your initial build and maybe make a few tweaks, you can upgrade. Below are some rough guidelines you can follow to decide which Bubble plan will fit you best:
- Starter, as the name suggests, is ideal for one person just getting started. It's ideal for an entrepreneur with one or two great app ideas or a small business owner who wants to build an app to serve a specific business need.
- Growth supports up to two users and is best for those planning to build aggressively. This includes agencies building apps for multiple clients or aspiring entrepreneurs cranking out apps in hopes that one will gain traction. It’s also suitable for someone who launches on the Starter plan, grows rapidly, and needs access to more resources.
- Team is aimed at multi-user operations. With support for up to five collaborators, this plan doubles the amount of AI credits and workload units offered on the Growth tier. It’s aimed at professionals building apps at scale, whether for their own business purposes or on behalf of clients.
There is also an Enterprise tier with unlimited AI credits. However, Bubble doesn’t advertise pricing for it, and it's not relevant to 99% of you reading this. My apologies if you're part of the 1%.
Top alternatives
Bubble is an excellent AI builder, but like any tool, it has drawbacks. Which of those drawbacks resonate most with you will strongly determine which Bubble alternatives fit you better.
If you don’t like that Bubble doesn’t let you export code, check out GoDaddy Airo.
GoDaddy Airo not only lets you download and move your code, but also self-checks the code it generates as you build your app or website and fixes it if something breaks.
If you find Bubble's workload units too constraining and prefer a tool that doesn’t limit basic resource use, check out Base44.
Base44 is very beginner-friendly and designed for people who know nothing about coding or programming. I’ve used Base44 to build a budgeting app and a fitness class booking app — both with great results.
If Bubble feels too expensive, try Caffeine AI.
Caffeine AI has a cheap $4/mo plan that comes with 20 AI credits a month and lets you connect a custom domain to your project. You can also add direct email functionality to your apps to stay in touch with customers through automated reminders and more. Plus, you can export your code if you ever want to move to another platform.
Bottom line: Is it worth paying for Bubble?
Bubble is worth the money, especially if you want to build both web and mobile apps with everything under one roof. There are three important caveats you need to consider before you buy, though:
First, unlike most AI builders, Bubble doesn’t solely charge you AI credits to build. It also debits you in workload units, which broadly correspond to how your app uses resources. Strategies and tools can help you maximize both workload units and AI credits, but if you ignore them and start vibe coding like there’s no tomorrow, you can quickly burn through your plan’s monthly allocations.
Second, once you build an app with Bubble, it’s not going anywhere — not smoothly, at least. There’s no code export, so if you want to move your project, you'll have to rely on third-party services that specialize in Bubble-to-code conversion. Those aren’t guaranteed to work, though, and can still leave you with a lot of manual cleanup. In short, if you choose Bubble, be prepared to either stick with it or start from scratch if you change your mind.
Lastly, Bubble provides a 99.9% uptime guarantee but only on its most expensive Enterprise tier, whose price isn’t even advertised. This is off-putting for anyone who wants to build a business around their app. Reliability is a non-negotiable, and Bubble really should improve on this.

How does Bubble.io work?
Bubble.io starts by asking whether you want to build a web-based app that runs in a regular web browser, a mobile app for Android or iOS, or both. After that decision, you sign up for a free plan that matches one of those three choices. Once you start building your app, you’ll see how different actions deplete your AI credits and workload units, which will help you determine which paid tier to upgrade to.
Is Bubble AI any good?
Bubble AI is not only good, but it’s one of the few AI builders that lets you build both web apps and mobile apps. It also includes features like built-in security checks, recurring workflows, generous storage (from 50 GB and up), and certifications such as SOC 2 Type II. All plans above the tier-one Starter also support custom branches, which let you experiment with changes without accidentally breaking your main branch. It does have one big drawback, though: you can’t export your code.
Is Bubble AI legit?
Bubble AI is very legit. The company behind it was founded in 2012 by Emmanuel Straschnov and Josh Haas, so it’s been in business for well over a decade. It’s also raised nearly $490 million from at least eight investors. That speaks to its legitimacy, as do the more than 900 very active Redditors in the r/Bubbleio subreddit who post about their various Bubble-built projects almost daily.
