DeleteMe pros and cons

DeleteMe is a dedicated data removal service. You fill out a datasheet during signup, and DeleteMe sends opt-out requests on your behalf. In addition to your full name, birthday, email, and home address, you can also submit relatives' names, employer information, and even a photo of your ID for more thorough removals.

Every plan includes 10 custom removal requests per quarter, so you can send DeleteMe a link and a screenshot when your data turns up on a site it doesn't cover. Two-year plans and a dedicated couples plan make it the better long-term value. Email masking is included, and phone masking is a paid add-on.

The weak spot is transparency. DeleteMe advertises up to 986 sites, but in our October 2026 count of its published site list, the Standard plan covered 92. The rest sit behind business tiers you can only add after you subscribe. There's also no mobile app and no real-time alerts.

Incogni pros and cons

Incogni is a set-and-forget data removal service. You sign an authorization form, add your name, email, and home address, and Incogni sends removal requests to 420+ data brokers on every plan. It follows up with each broker every 60 to 90 days.

Incogni's Unlimited plan includes unlimited custom removals. DeleteMe includes 10 per quarter on Standard, with unlimited only on higher-tier upgrades. Deloitte also verified Incogni's data broker coverage and its removal schedule in August 2025. Since our February 2025 testing, Incogni has sent 606 removal requests on our behalf.

The biggest downside is price. Incogni's starting price is higher than DeleteMe's two-year plan, and it doesn't offer a couples plan. But Incogni includes all 420+ data brokers on every tier, so you'll get more with this starting price.

DeleteMe plans

All DeleteMe plans vary based on who is covered and how long the coverage lasts. You can choose an individual plan, a couple plan for you and one other person, or a family plan to cover four individuals. You can also choose between one- and two-year plans.

All plans come with data broker opt-out, email masking, and privacy reports every three months. Phone masking is a paid add-on.

Data broker coverage

Incogni covers 420+ data brokers and people-search sites on every plan, and Deloitte verified that coverage in August 2025. DeleteMe's Standard plan covered 92 sites in our July 30, 2026, count. That's the fairest comparison, because Standard is the only plan on DeleteMe's main pricing page.

DeleteMe advertises 986 sites, but that number folds in international plans, custom requests, and business tiers you can only add after you subscribe.

Both services scan for new listings at least every 90 days, so an annual subscription is worth it for continuous coverage. Incogni sends recurring removals every 60 days to public data brokers and every 90 days to private data brokers.

DeleteMe will send quarterly reports, while Incogni sends monthly reports to keep you updated on removal progress.

Custom removals

Incogni's Unlimited plan includes unlimited custom removals, including an additional 2,000+ websites. You can submit them as soon as your account is active.

These sites extend beyond data brokers and people-search sites. These custom removal requests include business and company information sites, educational forums or boards owned by educational institutions, legal resources and some court record sites, and more.

DeleteMe includes 10 custom removals per quarter on its Standard plan, with unlimited custom removals on Platinum and higher. You submit the site link, your information, and a screenshot, and an advisor handles the request. Over a two-year plan, those quarterly requests add up to extra coverage beyond DeleteMe's standard list.

Privacy tools beyond removal

DeleteMe offers extra features to boost online security, like email and phone masking. Email masking helps reduce spam by creating a forwarding address that reroutes to your real email. Phone masking uses a temporary phone number to block your identity, but it's a paid add-on.

Incogni doesn't include these tools, but you can get Coveron's identity theft protection features with the Protect plan. This includes:

Both DeleteMe and Incogni collect substantial amounts of data, but this is expected for the services they provide. You submit personal details like your full name, home addresses, phone number, and more so they can locate and take down listings on people-search sites.

DeleteMe and Incogni's privacy policies both mention using your personal information for marketing and promotional messages, but you can opt out of this.

Incogni is a user-friendly, automated tool. We signed up, entered our email address, and created a password. Incogni contacts data brokers without you having to do anything else, so we sat back and waited while Incogni filed the official data removal requests.

Incogni's dashboard lists every broker it contacted. Each one has a Compliance Score, which shows how reliably the broker honors removal requests, and a Severity Score, which reflects how sensitive the broker's data is.

Incogni offers human support through 24/7 live chat and email. Plus, it has a cleanly organized knowledge base with sections on getting started, subscriptions and billing, features, and more.

Similarly, DeleteMe was easy to set up, install, and get those data removal requests rolling. We appreciate that you can submit more than basic information, like your relatives' names and employer information, for the most extensive removal.

In our September 2026 test, DeleteMe's first privacy report reviewed 391 records across 97 data brokers and found our information on 33 sites. DeleteMe says most listings disappear within a month, while slower brokers can take up to six weeks.

Finally, Incogni's Trustpilot score is higher. DeleteMe was at 4.0 but recently dropped to 3.7, and some of those reviews appear to describe a different company with a similar name.
