Charlotte Hornets games air locally on WSOC-TV 9 and TV64 this season, free over the air in the Charlotte market, and nationally on NBC, NBCSN, Peacock, ESPN, Prime Video, and NBA TV. It is the first time in 27 years that Hornets games have been on free over-the-air television.
Below is every game on the 2026-27 schedule with the channel it airs on, plus what to do if you are watching from outside the Charlotte market.
The Hornets play 80 regular season games. Nine of them carry a national broadcaster: three on NBA TV, three on NBC or NBCSN with a Peacock simulcast, two on Prime Video, and one on ESPN.
The other 71 air locally on WSOC-TV 9 and TV64, and out-of-market viewers can get those through NBA League Pass. The December 4 to December 12 window is held open for Emirates NBA Cup knockout rounds, so nothing is scheduled there yet.

Unlike the NFL, the NBA doesn't hold exclusive rights to its games. Local broadcasters hold the rights to games within a team's home region, which limits fans trying to watch from elsewhere.
NBA League Pass carries out-of-market games live. If you live outside the Charlotte market, that is the route to the 71 local games, and the national games are on the usual services.
Inside the Charlotte market it works the other way. League Pass blacks out locally televised Hornets games, and those unlock three days after they are played. Nationally broadcast games are blacked out live too and unlock at 6 a.m. ET the next day. In market you do not need a subscription for the local games at all, since WSOC-TV 9 and TV64 are free over the air. Gray Media also carries Hornets games on stations in Charleston, Columbia, Greenville-New Bern, Greenville-Spartanburg-Asheville-Anderson, Myrtle Beach, and Wilmington, plus Roanoke, Virginia. DAZN is the team's direct-to-consumer streaming home for the season, and no price for that package has been announced.
NBA League Pass is one of the best ways to watch out-of-market NBA games. It’s the NBA’s official streaming service offering live games, replays, and more additional content than the basketball fans can handle.
For $16.99 a month (or $109.99 per season), subscribers can watch live games that are not being aired on national networks or regional sports channels.
For an even more immersive experience, the NBA League Pass Premium for $24.99 a month (or $159.99 per season) allows you to stream live games commercial free. Premium also allows you to download games directly to your device to watch whenever you want.
Now, if you’re a die-hard NBA fan living outside of local broadcasting areas, you may experience regional blackouts. These can be super frustrating. It doesn’t help that streaming services also enforce geographic restrictions. This means you may not have access to certain games regardless of your paid subscription tier within that service. Thankfully, there is a workaround. By using a VPN to mask your location and bypass any restrictions, you’ll still be able to stream your games and stay in the game.
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) works by rerouting your internet connection through servers in different cities or even countries. This makes it look like you’re browsing from somewhere else and hides your current location. By doing this, you gain access to geo-locked or blacked-out content.
For local U.S. content, Surfshark is a great VPN option. Surfshark offers the most U.S. server access as well as fast and reliable connections. With a VPN, you can ensure you never miss a game, no matter where you are.
Budget-friendly VPN that lets you connect unlimited devices at once, which most VPNs cap at 10 or fewer
4,500+ servers across 100 countries with proven fast speeds, even on distant connections
Includes a built-in ad and tracker blocker, so you get cleaner browsing without a separate tool
Use our directory below to catch all NBA games across the country this season.
With a streaming service, you can get access to the channels that carry Hornets games:

Score a slam dunk with YouTube TV — one of the best services for streaming NBA games. Their base package price starts at $67.99/mo for first three months, $82.99/mo after and includes all of the channels needed to catch every game — ABC, ESPN, NBC, and NBA TV.
Additionally, YouTube TV offers unlimited cloud DVR services so you can rewatch your favorite moments.
For wallet-conscious fans, the price may seem on the higher end. That being said, the base YouTube TV package also allows for:
YouTube TV is compatible with most smart devices, including FireTV, Roku, and AppleTV. It also works on Google Chromecast, PS4/PS5, Xbox, and even Peloton.
When factoring in cost, the ability for more users to stream content in addition to NBA games may make it a good fit for those who have households with varying interests.
Hulu + Live TV is another excellent option for watching your favorite NBA team. Their “With Ads” packages start at $11.99/mo (with a three-day free trial). Subscribers gain access to over 85 live channels, including ABC, ESPN, and NBC.
There’s an option to upgrade to $18.99/mo to remove ads from some of the Hulu services, but ads will remain in effect for ESPN+. Neither package offers NBA TV.
The subscription also includes nine months of DVR cloud recording so you can rewatch on demand. Hulu + Live TV is easy to access on nearly any device and has an available add-on feature if you need additional screens.
With an extensive on-demand library, Hulu + Live TV is a great choice for those who want both live sports coverage and other entertainment options.
Get off the sidelines and into the game with Sling TV’s affordable packages. Their Orange & Blue package starts out at $60.99/mo. For you to get full coverage (including NBA TV), you’ll need to add the Sports Extra package, bringing the total to $75.99/mo.
Alongside its competitors, Sling TV also provides a cloud DVR feature, which is limited to 50 hours of storage (you can upgrade it to 200 hours for $5.00 a month).

Hornets fans in Charlotte can watch the 71 local games for free with an antenna on WSOC-TV 9 or TV64, and Gray Media carries them on local stations in six more markets across the Carolinas and in Roanoke. The nine national games need a service carrying NBC, NBCSN, Peacock, ESPN, Prime Video, or NBA TV.
Out of market, NBA League Pass is the route to the local games, and the national schedule is on the same services you would use anywhere. Check the schedule above to see which category your game falls into.
NBA League Pass International is the usual route outside the United States, though coverage varies by country and some games are blacked out by local rights deals, so check the terms where you live before you subscribe. If you are region-blocked while traveling, a top VPN service might help.

YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, and Sling TV each carry some of those channels, though lineups differ by plan, so check before you sign up. The other 71 games are on WSOC-TV 9 and TV64 in Charlotte, free over the air, with Gray Media stations carrying them in six more markets across the Carolinas and in Roanoke, Virginia.
